General Description:

Under the general supervision of the Early Childhood Coordinator, and with considerable latitude for independent judgment, the Physical Therapist provides physical therapy to children with developmental delays and/or medical conditions that might result in developmental delays. The Physical Therapist provides service coordination to the children assigned to his/her caseload. He/she is responsible for coordinating all services with the program and across agency lines. Primary responsibilities include screening, performing developmental assessments, performs physical therapy, implement linking, and participation in Individual Family Service Plan Meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in Physical Therapy is required. Must possess a current license from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy. Experience working with young children with developmental delays/medical conditions, and their families preferred. Specialized skills in remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention, is required. Must be able to deal with all types of persons including individuals, families, and groups of all socio-economic levels. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a driving record to comply with CFLR policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to pass required staff development training.
