POSITION: Early Intervention Specialist
Working Unit: EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION / KERRVILLE
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday)

General Description:
The Rehab Teacher is under the supervision of the Early Childhood Intervention Program Supervisor. The Rehab Teacher will provide Specialized Skills Training (SST) and Service Coordination for an individual caseload of clients ages 0-3. She/he will support development across domains with an emphasis on strengthening cognitive skills, positive behaviors and social interactions while respecting the diversity of families. Services are provided in the child and families natural environment, promoting parent or caregiver and child interactions within the context of everyday activities and routines in the home and community. Employee should demonstrate dedication to public service, commitment to excellence in service delivery, personal integrity and recognition of the individual worth and common needs of all people. Work schedule may require flexibility and the use of a Center vehicle to travel.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work with a current Texas State Social Worker’s license or bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education with a current Texas State Teacher Certification, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a bachelor’s degree in speech/language pathology or another related field is required. Bilingual speaking (Spanish) is a plus. Knowledge of child development and experience working with young children and families is preferred. A valid Texas driver’s license and driving record to comply with CFLR policies is mandatory. If selected for position, must give CFLR authorization to send for copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to complete all required staff developmental training.
