Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties may vary based on specific program and position, and may include but are not limited to the following:

· Assist in the restoration and treatment of individuals found incompetent to stand trial by local courts.

· Coordinate, link monitor and provide treatment to restore competency using training material provided by HHS.

· Oversee both the mental health treatment and forensic components of each individual’s case.

· Work closely with local courts to ensure requirements are met.

· Primary responsibilities include screening individuals for program eligibility, providing case management and linkage to mental health care, advocating within the criminal justice system regarding forensic needs, and facilitating program activities.

· Work may be conducted in both outpatient and jail-based settings.

· Requires frequent in-person contact with individuals, families, and service providers.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals, interdisciplinary teams, and systems.

· Proficient in accurately and objectively recording data and documentation.

· Ability to follow established service implementation processes to meet the needs of individuals served and adhere to funding source requirements.

· Proficient in the use of computers and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, social services or related field required to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)

· A minimum of 6 months experience in behavioral heal field is strongly desired.

· Knowledge of mental illness, intellectual disabilities, medications, resources and the criminal justice system is essential in performing a wide range of program activities.

· Professionalism in dealing with community officials and resources is a must.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

· Valid Driver’s License required.
