Position: Part time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties may vary based on specific program and position, and may include but are not limited to the following:
· Demonstrate competency, good judgment and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities
· Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures
· Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the center and report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to DFPS as specified in the Texas Family Code.
· Know and comply with the minimum standards for child-care centers
· Know which children they are responsible for
· Know each child’s name and have information showing each child’s age
· Supervise children at all times
· Ensure the children are not out of control
· Be free from activities not directly involving the teaching, care and supervision of children
· Meal preparation and janitorial duties
· Interact with children in a positive manner fostering developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities; show appreciation of children’s efforts and accomplishment
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
· Graduation for a standard high school, GED or passing a Center’s Competency Test
· Be at least 18 years of age
· Have a current record of tuberculosis examination, showing the employee is free of contagious TB
· Applicant will also go through Childcare Licensing Pre-screening process prior to being hired
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
· Valid Driver’s License required
