POSITION: CUSTODIAN I
Working Unit: Janie Clements Industries
Hours: Part time; M-F Hours Varied
Salary: $10.78 per hour; DOEE&Q

General Description:
Position is under the supervision of the Janitorial Supervisor and with some latitude for independent judgment. Responsible for training crews of 5 to 6 individuals with disabilities. The Custodian’s work involves cleaning and caring for the buildings and maintain custodial equipment. Such functions will include but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning windows, light fixtures, or carpet. Performs rest room maintenance, replenishing supplies and applying cleaning chemicals, as appropriate, as well as cleaning and disinfecting areas such as rest rooms, offices and other facilities. Will also clean office furniture, walls, windows, and floors; and empties trash. May perform minor maintenance and repair work on custodial equipment. Will perform related work as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED is required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures are preferred. Also, have skill in the use of custodial materials and chemicals and in the operation of custodial equipment. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and driving record to comply with the CFLR policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to pass required staff development training.
The Center for Life Resources is looking for applicants who are already living in or are willing to move to the 7 county catchment area within 90 days of their hire date. Our catchment area includes the counties of Brown, Eastland, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba, Mills and McCulloch.
Any employee desiring to transfer into this position must complete an In-House Employment Application and submit it to the Personnel Office. This position will remain open until filled.
