POSITION: NETWORK SPECIALIST

Working Dept.: MIS
Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday, Flexible
Salary: $15.37 per hour; DOEE&Q
Position #: 1019—Position will not be available until February, 2021

General Description:

Working directly under the supervision of the Director of MIS Services, position requires assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of a local area network or wide area network and all network nodes. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May perform procedures for backup, recover and archival of file stored on the network, serves as contact for remote network location to obtain clarification of problem and to identify solutions or corrective actions, maintains the local area network, cable, work stations and hub installations and inventories, maintains the network’s physical and logical structures and installing and testing hardware and software. May also assist in or conducts product evaluations of upgraded or new hardware and software and identifies strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency. Applicant must be willing to travel within the 7 county catchment area as well as attend meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Information Technology preferred. Must have knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques; of personal computer hardware and software; of network operating system and security software; and of performance monitoring and capacity management tools and have the ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve network problems. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. The work environment is such as to require sitting, walking, lifting (up to 75 pounds), and bending. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and driving record to comply with the CFLR policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to pass required staff development training.

The Center for Life Resources prefers applicants who are already living in or willing to move to the 7 county catchment area within 90 days of their hire date. Our catchment area includes the counties of Brown, Eastland, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba, Mills, and McCulluch.
